OK, welcome back to our regularly schedule programming! I had to take last week off so that I could ride out the influences myself, I had a hard time coming up with anything helpful to say! We’re gonna mix things up a little bit this week: I’ll give you an overview of the all aspects at work and give more detailed focus on the ones that are really talking to me. Today, Mercury sextiles Chiron to help us put our goals into perspective and perhaps even find some peace on whatever has been surfacing during this retrograde. Tomorrow, the 20th, the Sun moves into Aquarius as Mercury squares Uranus. I would say this leads to flashes of inspiration about particularly thorny problems and new ways of accessing information as old ways are closing to us. Thursday the 21st sees my favorite aspect and one I will talk about more in depth below, Venus conjunct Eros conjunct the Galactic Center. January 22nd, Mercury makes it’s 2nd conjunction to Pluto in Capricorn and will remain in that vicinity until next week. This is an amazing aspect for shadow work and safely addressing mental health issues that decrease your quality of life, like PTSD, OCD, bipolar syndrome and many others. I would not be surprised to see many breakthroughs and breakdowns during this time period, so take care of yourself and don’t be afraid to make necessary changes. Saturday, January 23rd is the first Full Moon of 2016 and Venus’ ingress into earthy Capricorn (more on that below). Monday, January 25th, Mercury goes direct in Capricorn and Mars conjuncts the asteroid Juno in Scorpio (yet another thing I will discuss more further in the post).
Venus conjunct asteroid Eros conjunct the Galactic Center of the Milky way is an extremely rare event! Eros is almost another aspect of Mars, it is the magnetic charge of the desire nature where Mars is the release of that same nature through libido. Eros is completion within union, whether that union be with material goals, spiritual goals or romantic goals is up to you. Eros and Venus have a natural rapport and their combined energies are amplified through the gravitational center of our galaxy. With this aspect, it’s possible for us to both receive incredible insights and affect change. If you have a magical practice, even the smallest spells or rituals can have tremendous power on this day if they come from the wisdom of the heart. For those of us who are involved with devotional practices, this is a day to allow ourselves to be transported by our love for the Beloved.
Every single particle in your body has made an agreement to form You, an agreement born out of love. Venus conjunct Eros conjunct GC wants you to optimize your life so that agreement can be honored in its highest form. If you need to have a conversation with your Self in order to get clear on the terms, this is a great day to do so.

The Full Moon in Leo is on Saturday as Venus enters Capricorn. Venus in Capricorn wants to teach us about always striving for our best and the first lesson is how to own your space! Leo energy dominates this day, allowing us to free ourselves from expectations and live joyfully. As Venus disseminates the energy of summiting the mountaintop and achieving dreams, the Full Moon illuminates what we make of our lives and our Selves, letting us know that the keys to success are the unique tools inherent to each of us. Special abilities and talents are highlighted and learning to utilize them fully is part of Venus in Capricorn’s curriculum this time around. Something about this Full Moon feels particularly childlike to me, the energy is straightforward, whole and shining. It can be very healing for those whose childhoods were marked by lies, fractures and faltering. This would be an excellent influence under which to give your inner child the love and safety that it needs, nourishing yourself in both past and present. Exactly how you do that is up to you, but social activities and hanging with your tribe are indicated with this Full Moon.
Monday, Mercury goes direct and Mars combines forces with the asteroid of sovereignty, Juno, Queen of the Heavens. Mars is preparing for its retrograde beginning in April and to me, this journey is going to be about confronting the shadows we have around leadership and mastery. Mars will retrograde from early Sagittarius to late Scorpio, asking us to question and redefine the qualities we gravitate toward in heroes and leaders. We will also have to look for those qualities in ourselves. Juno sets the stage for this transformation, initiating Mars in the mysteries of Scorpio that are opposed to His nature. Before the discovery of Pluto, Mars had the rulership of Scorpio and He is very familiar with the relentless dissolution of form and boundaries. Juno and Mars combine in order to bestow a gift to Mars as He travels on His quest: the thread of purpose. Like Theseus in the myth of the labyrinth, Mars (and through Him, all of us) will follow this thread to the depths of the enigma in order to confront what He finds there. This confrontation will be one of integration and the thread we follow will be the simple question “how am I giving away my power?” Juno reminds us that we are masters of our own fates and that we have all the tools we need to shape our own destinies.
